150 Ways to Stay Active

Whitby would like to help you to reach your 150 minutes of physical activity

To achieve health benefits, adults should aim for 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous intensity aerobic exercise per week, in sessions of 10 minutes or more. Physical activity that includes muscle and bone strengthening exercises using the major muscle groups should be done at least 2 days per week. It is recommended that children and youth get 60 minutes per day. The key is to invest now for a healthier future, and you can have fun doing it with us.

150 Ways To Stay Active In Whitby

The Town of Whitby would like to help you to reach your 150 minutes of physical activity. The Whitby Civic Recreation Complex Health Club Family Membership now includes drop in public swimming, skating and gymnasium sports programs. Members also have the option to add on an Associate Membership at the Abilities Centre or a Babysitting Membership for as little as $10 per month.

Staying Active Made Easier in Recreation Month

Participate in a variety of activities during Recreation and Parks Month and stay active 150 ways in June. Daily program and activity options are being offered in fitness, swimming, skating, sports, and active living for all ages from children to seniors. Learn more at Whitby.ca/events.

National Health and Fitness Day is June 3, 2017

Enjoy a free workout on Saturday, June 3. Try the Whitby Civic Recreation Complex Health Club or try a group fitness class on Saturday, June 3 for all participants age 14 and older. Don’t worry, though, there is something for everyone. Families can join the Family Drop-In Multi-Sport program from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Brooklin Community Centre and Library to stay active and have fun too.
