Eagles Ready to Soar

Whitby 05 Squirt Softball Team looking forward to playing ball in 2017

The Whitby Eagles Girls Softball Association was founded in 1995 and represents girls' fastball in Whitby. Our teams are made up of girls living within Durham Region.

We train year round with an emphasis on providing our girls with an elite softball experience, professional coaching, training and development, sportsmanship and of course fun. Tournament play, camps and clinics provide both college and professional exposure to all our players. Our teams play and travel throughout the greater Toronto area, Ontario, Canada, and the USA.

Our season and tournaments begin in March and conclude in August. We regularly have multiple teams participating in Provincial and National championships and have many of our girls playing for Team Canada, NCAA Division I, II and III in the United States and Canadian Universities and Colleges. The Eagles are fielding a total of 8 elite REP teams for the 2017 season.

Team Updates

The Whitby Eagles 05 Squirt Team is eagerly awaiting opening day! Our U12 team is made up of dedicated, enthusiastic and talented athletes who have been training hard all winter. Special thanks to our hitting instructors Craig Sarson, Head Coach of the U of T Varsity Girls Fastball Team and Frank Lang, the girls can't wait to start swinging the bats on the diamond again. Our pitchers and catchers have trained hard all winter with Jamie Baker, pitching coach of the Durham Lords, and are eager to get back on the mound and behind the plate. The girls have also really enjoyed training all winter on the turf inside the Dome at Durham College.

Building on a successful first year Squirt, this year’s team is off to a fantastic start. Our first action of the season was the indoor UTM March Madness Tournament. Our team went 2-1 and displayed solid offence, strong defence and great sportsmanship. The girls are looking forward to attending 10 tournaments this summer, including qualifiers and Provincials.

Go Eagles!

The Whitby Eagles Novice team took a break from winter training and attended an indoor tournament over the March break in Barrie. Listed as a 14U team, this Novice team is primarily 13U players. The Eagles went 3-1 in Barrie, a fantastic showing for the girls playing primarily 14U teams. A combination of strong pitching, offence and defence this Novice squad proved that they will be a hard team to beat in the upcoming 2017 season.
